How to play
- For 8 to 12 players, mark a 20 by 20 metre square and set out five gates 2 metres wide inside it. Everyone has a ball except one tagger, who holds a bib rolled up into a ball. With more players, set up a second square.
- Dribblers score a point for every gate they dribble through, but not the same gate twice in a row. Each one counts their own.
- The tagger chases and throws the bib at a dribbler's ball. A hit is a point to the tagger, who picks the bib up and goes again.
- Rounds last 30 seconds. After each one the tagger swaps with a dribbler, bib for ball, until everyone has had a go with the bib.
The decision it trains
Two things pull every dribbler in different directions: the gates, which are points, and the tagger, who is a threat. A gate on the far side of the square is safe but far away; the one beside the tagger is quick but risky. So the dribbler keeps looking up to see where the tagger is, takes big touches into open space and small ones when the tagger closes in, and turns their body between the tagger and the ball, because a hidden ball is hard to hit. The tagger chooses too: the dribbler looking at their feet, the one whose ball has run away from them, or the one about to go through a gate. And they get close before they throw, because a throw from far away rarely lands.

What to ask at the breaks
"How did you choose which gate to go for?"
"What did you do with the ball when the tagger came close?"
"When you had the bib, whose ball did you go for, and why?"
