FAQ
The questions coaches ask most: trying it out, data, age groups, parents, payments, feedback.
Can I try it without signing up
Yes. The calendar, workspace, starting lineup, session design and public page all show demo teams with real generated content, and the editors work as a sandbox. Sign in when you want to keep what you made.
How long does the free plan last
There is no limit. One team, the calendar, attendance and forms are free for good; the AI features have trial allowances. See Free and Pro.
Which age groups
U5 to U18. Sessions adjust the format, numbers and constraints to the age group automatically.
How long does a session plan take
Usually two to three minutes. Hobbit uses the highest reasoning effort to settle the framework and then work through each block, and the waiting panel shows the progress. Keep the page open while it works.
The generation was interrupted
Back in the chat you will see a "session generation was interrupted" card; press "Regenerate".
Do parents need an account
No. The public page, the event pages and the sign-up forms open from a link. There is no parent chat and no RSVP either.
Can it collect payments
No. The fee account records the fact of a payment; it does not process payments, charges no fees and issues no invoices. Collect the way you do today.
Can several coaches share one team
Not today: one team, one coach account.
Where is my data, and will it be deleted
On Hobbit's servers, visible only to your account. When a subscription lapses the data stays; only the files in the team library are removed after a grace date, with a warning in your account beforehand. Deleting the account deletes everything for good.
Which languages
English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, Portuguese, French and Vietnamese, switched at the bottom of the sidebar.
Does it work on a phone
Yes. hobbit.football works in full in the browser, and there are apps for iPhone, Android, Mac and Windows. See Phone and desktop apps.
Which federation's method is Hobbit
None. DGC was distilled from the published youth methods of the English FA and the Spanish, Dutch, French and German federations, and no federation endorses or certifies Hobbit. The structure of a session comes from the session standard you choose: the built-ins include the session shapes the English FA, US Soccer, the DFB and the KNVB publish, but those are skeletons, and what fills them is always DGC content. The format is only a constraint set by the age group.
How do I report a problem or ask for something
Feedback in the sidebar is the public feedback board: problems, ideas and discussions, with votes and a visible status. Or write to gandalf@hobbit.football.
